The Generally Accepted Roleplaying Guidelines Commission
Our goal is to universalize roleplaying within the Grand Theft Auto community. Universalizing roleplay will ensure deeper storyline immersion and a higher quality of entertainment for all.
There are many terms that can be attributed to the roleplaying universe. In this section you will find a detailed list of all roleplaying terms that you should become more familiar with.
1. Metagaming: Metagaming is knowing a certain piece of information without gathering it through IC (In-character) means. Something told to you via OOC (Out of character) chat, only to be used in IC chat, is committing an act of Metagaming.
2. IC: IC stands for in-character.
3. OOC: Stands for out of character. If someone wishes to speak to our OOCly about something, then they wish to do so outside of the roleplaying.
4. Godmoding: Godmoding is turning on your “god mode” within the roleplay. This means your character pretty much survives anything. This is a very illegal action to do within the roleplaying.
5. Marysue: A Marysue character is a character that is the very definition of “perfection”. Characters that retain a Marysue personality are looked down upon.
6. NPC: An NPC is a non-player computer. Pretty much, these are the pedestrians of the world.
7. Class A character death: The death of your character during a roleplaying session.
8. Class B character death: The permanent death of your roleplaying character.
9. RP: Roleplaying.
10. Roleplaying Session: A general session of roleplaying. Normally these lasts for just a few hours and generally have their own inner storyline.
